Matadore Beach
I attended a workshop a few days ago with Ignat Ignatov on Matadore beach near Malibu.
It was real fun and I got some good advice and critique from Ignatov who is a really good painter and a real nice guy.
My friend Walt Morton was also there.
Here's two sketches that I did out on the beach that afternoon.

Here's some photos as well.

Woman with Snake Maquettes
Here's two maquettes made in sculpey to help me visualize the scene in the new Snake painting I posted yesterday.
I owe a big dept to James Gurney's book Imaginative Realism.
If you haven't got a copy, pick it up pronto, its a goldmine of information for any artist working imaginatively.

Woman with Snake
Heres the charcoal "cartoon" for a new painting I've been working on.
I am painting it now and some areas of it have changed a little, but in general this is the composition.
