Finished painting - The Little Girl & The Wolf

Whew.. I repainted the little girls head three to four times. I reasonably like it now.

The latest. Will try to finish this tomorrow.

Well I broke a cardinal rule and messed with my drawing of the wolfs paws a bit.... I rubbed those out and followed my charcoal preliminary and I have much better results now.
Still a long way to go but I'm getting there.

End of day 2.

Here's an update to my Charcoal sketch and a series of pictures showing the 1st bit of progress on my painting. I am putting these here as a way to end a bit of "studio isolation" while I create. If anyone cares to comment on anything here please do.

Heres a new painting and it's charcoal preliminary. I was inspired and challenged to do this painting by James Gurney's Art By Committee area of his blog. Again I'm not sure how succesful this picture is. Its a lot diffrent putting pictures like this together than painting an interior scene from life... anyway I think I learned a lot from the experience.

Here's some sketches I did last night at the Tuesday night workshop at the Kline Academy.

I had a great time, the model was really fantastic, very energetic and theatrical. I'm looking forward to next weeks group already!
